Year 2

EvansN141@hwbcymru.net

Our inspiration this term is our habitat, with activities relating to the Eisteddfod and St David’s Day helping us to understand what it is to be Welsh. We intend to learn pieces to recite and sing in both the school Eisteddfod and Eisteddfod yr Urdd. We will be developing our extended writing skills, writing factually and instructional writing. The role play will be based on our Eisteddfod. We will be making bread ready for Shabbat and learning about the importance of the day for the Jewish community. We will learn about our local habitat and animals, and animals who need differing habitats who live throughout the world. We will be learning about where these animals live and placing them on a world map.

The maths will be concentrating on number, number value, multiplication, fractions and data. We will be solving problems in fractions and with data. Our art lessons will include painting on maps and making a turtle out of clay. We will be visiting a local business as well as going on our termly trip to Llansteffan beach and to see the Rembrandt on display in Abergwili museum.

These are the apps Tric a Chlic and Scratch Junior that we use in school that you can download for free to use at home.
